This little crochet purse pattern has proven to be one of my more popular patterns. It only uses about a half skein of yarn and can be worked up in one afternoon. The purse is perfect for little girls who like to play dress-up or who want to carry along their important items, just like Mommy.
Tweens and teens like the size and style of this little crochet purse. It is small enough to fit in a school locker or desk, yet big enough for a cell phone and wallet. You can personalize it by using different colors of yarn and with cute appliques.

Put it all together:
First side:
Working with the right side, line up the side panel with the main piece. Make sure that the bottom of the sides line up correctly between the rows on the body that were worked in only one loop.
Attach yarn to the top, where the side meets the body. ch 1, sc through the back loop only of the side piece and the front loop only of the body piece, continue around until the side is attached. (Leave the 4 sc on the top of the sides unworked) Fasten off.

Repeat the above directions with the second side, but do not finish off.
Make strap:
Row 1: sc 4 across the top of the side. Turn. (4 sc)
Row 2- 50: sc 4 across. Turn. (4 sc)
Attach with 4 sl st to back loop only of the 4 unworked sc of the top of the other side. Finish off.

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in same sc, sc in next sc, *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc*, repeat * to * 2 times. Join with sl st and finish off.
Sew button to body so that it aligns with the button loop.
