I mentioned on Fiber Tuesdays Link Party post that I was busy making crochet tie headbands for my girls. (Pssst… There is still time to link to the party, if you haven’t already.) Yesterday I shared my pattern for the crochet Puff Stitch Tie Headband. Today, I am sharing the pattern for my Crossed Stitch Tie Headband.
I call it a Crossed Stitch because the stitch crosses over other stitches. This makes for a very interesting effect. It is really easy to do. You simply skip one stitch, work the next two stitches, then go back and work a stitch in the skipped stitch. If you have never done this before, just take it stitch by stitch, and you will catch on right away.
Tie headbands are quick and easy to make. They make fun gifts or party favors. They are an easy way to fill up your craft booth, as well.

Crossed Stitch Crochet Tie Headband
Supplies:
Size I crochet hook
Worsted weight cotton yarn
Pattern:
Ch 42
Row 1: sc in 3rd (skipped ch counts as sc) ch from hook. Turn. (2)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in top of skipped ch. Turn. (3)
Row 3: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc 2. Turn. ( 4 )
Row 4: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc 3. Turn. ( 5)
Row 5: ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc, cross back and dc in 2nd skipped sc, sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 6: ch 1, sc 4, sc in the top of turning ch. Turn. (5)
Row 7-29: repeat rows 5&6.
Row 30: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 3. Turn. (4)
Row 31: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 2. Turn. (3)
Row 32: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 1. Turn. (2)
Row 33: ch 1, sc2tog. Turn. (1)
Ch 40
Finish off and weave in ends.
