Need a different size?
Use my Hat and Headband Size Chart and the instructions below.
To make a larger hat:
1. Determine your hat height needed, and increase stitches in your foundation chain (and each row) to obtain your required hat height.
2. Determine the circumference needed for your hat size, and increase color A rows evenly (same number before the center stripes, as after) to obtain your required circumference.
3. Larger hats may also need an extra stitch or 2 for the ear flaps. Continue decreasing rows down to 1 stitch.
To make a smaller hat:
1.Change all (BL)hdc stitches to (BL)sc, and all hdc2tog stitches to sc2tog.
2. Determine your hat height needed, and decrease stitches in your foundation chain (and each row) to obtain your required hat height.
3. Determine the circumference needed for your hat size, and decrease color A rows evenly (same number before the center stripes, as after) to obtain your required circumference.
