A couple of weeks ago, when I shared my Small Cluster Headband with Flower pattern, I mentioned that my 4-year-old put an order for a ” crochet striped headband with a butterfly pattern on it.” As promised, here it is!
She LOVES it! She should, though. She sifted through my cotton yarn and chose the colors herself!
Because cotton yarn doesn’t have a lot of give, I decided to use a stitch that does. This stitch is comprised of clusters, puffs, and good ol’ single crochets. It is quick to catch on to, and fun to work. When switching colors, I didn’t break the yarn. I just dropped the working color, drew the next color up, and carried on working with it. This made switching so much easier!
Before getting started, make sure you know what size headband you will need. You can check out my Hat and Headband Size Chart for help, if need be. While you are at it, you can check out my other charts and such in my Resources Gallery, if you like.
For this headband, you will need to make the butterfly. You can find my pattern for the Butterfly Applique here.
