Last week, I invited you all to my Slipper Party. Go ahead and check it out if you missed the details. There is still time to join in. Heck, even if you are reading this a year from now, I’d still like to see how you creatively customize my All Size Simple Slipper crochet pattern. Go ahead and share on my Facebook page. I like seeing what y’all are making!
Without further ado, I will show you how I customized the simple slippers.
I made these little crochet caterpillar baby slippers for my 9-month-old.
She is not overly fond of wearing things (socks, shoes, slippers, booties…) on her feet, and tends to kick them off. That said, these stay on her feet pretty well. She likes to play with the caterpillar’s antennae, but surprisingly enough, rarely pulls them off of her feet.
These crochet caterpillar baby slippers pattern would make an adorable addition to my Newborn Caterpillar Hat and Cocoon set.

Make the toe in red, then switch to green for the foot portion.

Use the yellow yarn to sew/embroider around the eyes to the toe portion. You will want to see a ring of yellow around the green eyes. Center they eyes between the foot portion and the tip of the toe, placing them just so that the inner edge of the eyes line up with the outer edge of the antennae.
