Remember the Sunflower Appliques that I showed you on Monday? Well, as promised, here is what I did with the larger one.
This bag was created when my younger girls were playing dress up. My (then) toddler wanted a purse, since her sisters had one. This was the perfect size for her to carry around and hide her toys in.
This free toddler tote pattern is crocheted in rounds and is easy to make. It uses a large hook, and works up quickly. I used less than a skein of yarn and adorned the tote with my large sunflower applique.

For the handles:
Skip the first 5 hdc. Attach yarn to the 6th hdc. Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as join, hdc in the next 2 sts. Turn.
[ch 2, hdc 3, turn.] repeat 20 times.
Now, counting from the 3rd hdc of the first row of the handle (on the bag itself, now), skip the next 9 hdc. Attach handle with a sl st to the 10 hdc.
Ch 1, sc in the same st as the join, through the bag and the hdc of the handle. Sc through the last 2. Finish off and weave in ends.
Skip the next 11 stitches and attach yarn to the 12th stitch. And repeat the instructions above to make the second handle.
Choose an applique so sew onto your toddler tote, if you wish.
